Qiu Xiao-Wen:

is the Assistant to the Director of Melody of Dragon, Inc., and a dizi (bamboo flute) player. She earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School and
worked as a finance attorney in New York City for some years before shifting her focus to the study of traditional Chinese culture, including history,
philosophy, poetry, calligraphy, and painting. She has studied dizi with Chen Tao, a renowned dizi master and educator at Melody of Dragon, since 2021.
Xiao-Wen has mastered dozens of dizi compositions in both northern and southern styles. In November 2023, she made her performance debut with Melody of Dragon
at the School of Columbia, playing the dizi duet "Kangding Love Song," which received widespread acclaim among the students. She continued to perform with
the group, including at the Chinese New Year Concert in February 2024, sponsored by the New York InterChurch Center.
In June 2024, Xiao-Wen premiered the dizi duet "A Beautiful Evening," composed by Chen Tao, at the "Passing on the Torch through Music" concert for National
Immigrant Heritage Month, organized by the Queens Public Library. Beyond performances, she is actively engaged in community service, helping and performing
at retirement homes and art gatherings. Additionally, she was invited to introduce Columbia University's Classic Chinese students to the connection between
traditional Chinese music and poetry, and to perform dizi pieces in both the southern and northern styles, which were received with acclaim!
